4 月 22 日即將迎來世界地球日,Apple 16日宣佈至今的全面碳中和目標進度,以 2015 年為基準,公司全球溫室氣體排放量已減少超過 60%,這是 Apple 往 2030 年全面碳中和目標邁進的其中一部分。此外,Apple 也達成了其他多項重大環保里程碑,包括所有磁石採用 99% 再生稀土元素、所有 Apple 設計之電池皆採用 99% 再生鈷。
Apple 環境、政策與社會措施副總裁 Lisa Jackson 表示:「我們對 Apple 2030 目標的推動進度感到非常光榮。這項目標涉及我們業務的方方面面。目前,我們使用比以往更多的清潔能源與再生材料製造產品,並致力於全球水資源保育與減廢行動,也持續大規模投資自然資源保護。邁向 2030 年的路上挑戰只會更艱鉅,但我們會持續透過創新、合作與行動力來迎接考驗。」
Apple 的 2030 策略聚焦於將溫室氣體排放量相較 2015 基準年減少 75%,然後以高品質碳權抵銷剩餘排放量。去年,Apple 全面推動減少碳足跡,做法包括持續促進供應鏈轉用再生能源,以及提升產品中的再生材料比例,成功避免了約 4,100 萬公噸的溫室氣體排放。
擴大再生與可再生材料的使用
Apple 持續擴大產品中再生與可再生材料的使用,以降低碳足跡,同時維持產品品質與效能。今年初,Apple 已超越其 2025 年目標的 99%,包括:所有磁石採用 100% 再生稀土元素,以及所有 Apple 設計的電池採用 100% 再生鈷。磁石是 Apple 整體產品中使用稀土元素最主要的部分,而 Apple 設計的電池占 Apple 鈷用量的 97% 以上。Apple 致力於以負責任的方式採購再生與原生礦物,並在整體供應鏈中推動高標準的人權與環境準則。
減少數百萬公噸廢棄物
2024 年,參與 Apple 零廢棄 (Zero Waste) 計畫的供應商共轉移約 60 萬公噸廢棄物,避免其進入掩埋場;自 2015 年計畫啟動以來的累計總量達到 360 萬公噸,相當於減少 450 萬平方公尺的掩埋場空間。Apple 與供應商持續創新,以進一步加速減廢進度,做法包括製造流程中導入可回收保護膜與可重複使用托盤,以及回收電路板製程產生的廢液中所含的貴金屬。
創新方式促進產品減排
Apple 的環保進展持續體現在產品之中。今年初,Apple 推出全新 MacBook Air,整體再生材料含量超過 55%,創下 Apple 產品之最。去年,Apple 推出首款碳中和 Mac:新款 Mac mini。而且,顧客可以選購任何材質 Apple
watch收購watch 的碳中和版本。Apple 的碳中和產品來自於以創新方式大幅減少材料、用電、運輸三大來源的碳排放,然後再以高品質的自然碳權專案抵銷少量的剩餘排放。
每年節省數百億加侖用水
自 2013 年啟動「供應商清潔用水計畫」以來,Apple 與其供應商已累計節省超過 900 億加侖淡水。該計畫推動全球各地廠區進行水資源再利用、提升用水效率,以及執行其他相關措施。去年,參與計畫的供應商平均水再利用率為 42%,光是在 2024 年就節省了 140 億加侖淡水。在 Apple 的整體企業營運中,公司訂定目標,至 2030 年前在高水資源壓力地區補充 100% 的淡水取用量。目前,Apple 已啟動涵蓋超過該目標 40% 的長期合作計畫,其中包含美國、印度與非洲的新計畫與既有補水專案,預計未來 20 年將帶來近 90 億加侖的水資源效益。
